Ariana Grande didn’t just show up on the wicked: For good premiere red carpets she transformed. With a series of evocative, carefully curated couture looks, she paid homage to Glinda’s fairytale legacy, while infusing each piece with her own modern, soulful sensibility. From the outset, the press tour for the movie premiere of Wicked: For good promised more than just red-carpet glamour. With each city and premiere, Ariana and the stylists used fashion to echo the themes of the film which was; magic, duality, transformation.  The wardrobe choices that were often made by the stylists were ones that reflected Glinda and Elphaba approved aesthetic. During the press tours and red carpet moments, Ariana favored vintage clothing and archival couture, which was a powerful choice that grounded her looks in fashion history even as she embodied a modern Glinda. The dresses that she wore, were not throwaways or generic gowns; each of the master pieces she wore, had provenance, texture, and a story behind that gave her appearances a depth many red-carpet outfits tend to lack.

At the European premiere in London, Ariana Grande traded her signature pastel palette for a more vintage look. The dress she wore featured an asymmetric one-shoulder silhouette, a fitted bodice, and a tiered, floating skirt that evoked old Hollywood glamour with a mysterious depth to it. She completed this look with a sleek slicked-back bun, soft side-swept bangs, vintage-glam makeup, and a delicate diamond choker. The effect was both striking, cinematic, and a reminder that sometimes, black outfits can be as enchanting as fairy-dust pink.

Ariana for another event during the tour stunned in a blush-pink couture ball gown by designer Robert Wun. The dress had soft sculptural butterflies that were delicately scattered across its surface, and it embodied the dreamy, delicate spirit of Glinda. This look felt like a page out of a literal storybook:  romantic, feminine, and full of movement. The butterflies gave it a light, and the gown’s floaty silhouette balanced the theatricality of the gown with softness.

At the final stop of the tour. At the New York premiere, Ariana wore a custom-made haute couture gown by Schiaparelli. With a black corset-style bodice that was structured, sophisticated, dramatic, and had a voluminous rosy tulle skirt, this outfit was “Glinda-meets-Elphaba” in the most artful and beautiful way. The bodice’s lace detailing and pleating added depth and texture; the skirt’s soft waves evoked fantasy and movement, And then completed with Swarovski jewelry and her signature ponytail hairstyle, Ariana Grande’s look paid respect to the classic Glinda image, while still hinting at a more mature, nuanced version of the character; magical yet grounded, fairy-tale but still real.

One of the most talked about and best fashion moments of the tour came when Ariana closed out the press tour in a vintage gown from the archive of Givenchy’s piece from their vintage collection of Fall 1995 couture. The cotton-candy-pink gown, had a subtle train, well textured detailing, and long sleeves, that felt like a gentle bow and acknowledgment to both fashion history and the character she embodied in the movie. The outfit was styled on Ariana with a bun topped by pink rosettes and soft, doll-like makeup-look in matching tones, the look was ethereal and nostalgic, and vintage. A reminder that Glinda’s magic lives not just in the film, but also in the delicate art of the couture.

What made Ariana Grande’s “Wicked: For Good” press tour truly magical was the intention behind each of the outfits she wore. This wasn’t about paparazzi glam or flashy show-offs. It was about storytelling that felt different, history, and a character-driven style. From wearing the Givenchy’s 1995 collection to Gilbert Adrian’s 1950s Hollywood gowns, Ariana honored fashion’s vintage on a whole new level, adding weight and meaning to every of her red-carpet appearances. Her wardrobe often mirrored the duality that was displayed in the film Wicked: light and dark, fantasy and reality, and most importantly magic and humanity. The constant shift between pastel glitz and moody drama felt very intentional, like a visual echo of Glinda’s journey in full display through an outfit.

The gowns Ariana Grande wore were dreamy and magical but none ever felt costume-y. Ariana infused each look with elegance, subtlety, and a clear sense of self, even at her most whimsical. And in doing so, she showed that fashion can be deeply felt and expressive even while still being subtle. Watching Ariana Grande through this tour was like watching Glinda come to life.

The vintage gowns honored past eras, but the styling and attitude were firmly rooted in 2025, with color shifts that went from black to blush to bubble-gum pink, while telling a story of evolution, and not just in the wardrobe but also in character. For fans of fashion and fans of Wicked, this wasn’t just a press tour, This was a love letter, to the film, to its roots, to its characters and also to the artistry of the couture. The clothes weren’t just clothes. They were reviving moments.
